Most eye-catchingly, Priddy’s own local heroes The Drystones (above) have been nominated for the Young Folk Award. The Alex Garden and Ford Collier – hail from Priddy and return to the festival this year as one of the headline acts following the release of their third album We Happy Few last year.
The super-talented Bristolian Sam Kelly is also in line for an award in the Best Group category. Sam already has one gong to his name having won the Horizon Award two years ago and comes to Priddy this year with his Trio.
At Priddy last year, concertina player Mohsen Amini stunned all who saw him with the Scottish trio Talisk. This year, Mohsen returns to Priddy with his new band Imar. And both are up for awards. Mohsen has a personal nomination in the Musician of the Year category whilst Imar get the nod in in the Horizon Award nominations.
And finally, new additions to our line-up Edgelarks – aka Phillip Henry and Hannah Martin – are in the running for the Best Duo award. The West-Country based duo have built up a big following thanks to Phillip’s virtuoso guitar work and Hannah’s haunting voice. The pair make astounding music and we are delighted to recruit them for this year’s Priddy.
