Following months of meticulous planning, we are now delighted to announce this year’s headliners!
Our Programme Team have once again put together a really diverse and exciting range of folk music from across the world, mixing the traditional and the new with jazz influences, Eastern European influences, rap, Americana and even Argentine tango along the way.
Firmly grounded in the Scottish/Gaelic tradition, bright new Scottish five-piece Eabhal from South Uist will be closing out our main stage on the Friday night. Top of the bill in Eastwater will be our very own The Drystones, performing their last-ever gig together, so come along and give them a proper Priddy send-off.
Scottish singer Siobhan Miller, performing with a full six-piece band, will be headlining the Swildons stage on the Saturday, filling the marquee with her beautiful voice and stage presence. We are also really excited to welcome Rooftop Assembly to Swildons with their exciting fusion of grime, classical and folk. And finally, last year’s festival-goers loved Matchume Zango with Kate Griffin’s set so much that we have invited them back to close the festival on Sunday afternoon with a party vibe.
Other highlights of the weekend include a reformed and re-energised Pons Aelius with their lively infusion of bagpipes, fiddle and wonderful banjo; punchy Argentinian tunes and songs from Tango Calor; and edgy, fast-paced Eastern European music from Perkelt.
Hugely versatile Gambian kora player Jali Bakary Konteh will be playing with Sara Deere Jones on classical harp. Award-winning, captivating duo Katherine Roberts and Sean Lakeman will delight audiences with their imaginative songwriting and arrangements, whilst eight-piece Merry Hell will be bringing their uplifting and energised folk-rock vibe with songs for troubled times. We are also looking forward to the return of Bonfire Radicals, playing upbeat world music, and Tarren, a three-piece delivering English tunes with style.
The Festival weekend will also include a fantastic Dance Festival programme, poetry, art, the hugely popular Fringe and, of course, the Children’s Festival. Add in an eclectic mix of crafts and market stalls, food from across the world, and our wonderful festival bars and you have an event to rival our bigger cousins in Glastonbury at a fraction of the price!
Our discounted Early Bird tickets are still available until the end of February, and you can save up to £12 on a full-price weekend ticket.
